The RHUM Tour begins with convenient pickups from participating South Coast hotels, where guests are welcomed aboard a comfortable Sweet Life Tours vehicle by their friendly driver and guide.
As the journey begins, guests are introduced to Barbados’ fascinating history, colourful culture and the important role the island played in Caribbean trade, colonial history and the development of the rum industry.
Our first major area of exploration is the Historic Garrison Savannah, part of the UNESCO World Heritage property of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison.
Travelling through this remarkable district, guests will discover several of Barbados’ most significant historical landmarks:
Throughout this section, the guide shares fascinating stories about the Garrison’s military past, colonial architecture and its lasting influence on modern Barbados.

Visit Barbados
Leaving the Garrison district, the tour continues through Aquatic Gap, an area where guests may be fortunate enough to spot one of Barbados’ famous green monkeys.
A photo opportunity may be offered when monkeys are visible and conditions permit, providing guests with a memorable glimpse of local wildlife.
The tour then follows scenic Bay Street, passing several important landmarks and coastal attractions:
This scenic drive connects Barbados’ colonial heritage with its present-day identity, offering guests a closer look at the people, architecture and coastline that make the island unique.

Visit Barbados
A short stop with a lasting impression
The tour then enters the heart of historic Bridgetown, Barbados’ capital city and a UNESCO World Heritage destination.
Guests disembark near Upper Bay Street for a 15-minute guided-orientation and independent exploration stop, allowing them to experience the atmosphere of the historic city centre.
Depending on walking pace and accessibility, guests can view or explore the immediate surroundings, including:
This brief stop provides an opportunity for photographs, sightseeing and a closer connection with Bridgetown’s heritage.
Following the stop, guests reboard the Sweet Life Tours vehicle and continue along Wharf Road, passing the historic Careenage waterfront before travelling onto Princess Alice Highway and then the Spring Garden Highway.
As the journey heads north, the guide introduces Barbados’ centuries-old relationship with sugar cane and rum production, setting the stage for the next chapter of the RHUM experience.

The second part of the RHUM Tour brings guests to the historic West Indies Rum Distillery, home of Stade’s rum, along Barbados’ western coastline.
Here, guests discover why Barbados is widely celebrated as the birthplace of rum and how generations of craftsmanship have helped shape one of the Caribbean’s most recognisable industries.
During the guided distillery experience, guests will have the opportunity to learn about:
The distillery visit offers a fascinating connection between the historical sites explored earlier in the tour and the sugar and rum industries that helped shape Barbados’ economy, culture and international identity.
This is more than a tasting experience — it is an opportunity to appreciate the history, innovation and craftsmanship behind one of Barbados’ most celebrated exports.
NOTE WELL: Sip and Dip guests DO NOT participate in the guided distillery visit; they proceed directly to the beach-club portion of the programme.

Both experiences conclude at the Sip & Dip Beach Club beside the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Guests can enjoy a relaxed beachfront atmosphere, coastal photography, conversation and time to soak up the island lifestyle. Additional drinks and food are available for purchase. Packages include two beach chairs, one umbrella and a bar voucher for use at the beach club.
RHUM Sip and Dip guests enjoy 2.5 hours at Sip & Dip, including beach lounging and leisure. RHUM Signature guests join the beach club after their approximately one-hour guided distillery experience and therefore have less beach time if both options share the same return departure. Optional food and beverage enhancements may be arranged for private groups, subject to availability.
Following the beach-club experience, guests reboard the Sweet Life Tours vehicle for their return transfer to their respective hotels.
